LDF is seeking funds to build the first ever resource center in Liberia.
Today there are no public libraries in the whole country and most of the high schools have no libraries. Moreover, schools are insufficiently equipped to satisfy the needs of an oversized student population formed by both students currently in school age and students who were not able to enroll during the 14-year conflict. Educational materials available are very limited and information technology resources (computers and internet connectivity) are not easily available or affordable.
The center will integrate a library, a computer lab with internet connectivity, a conference room, study rooms, and science laboratories and will be accessible by all the surrounding educational institutions and local communities.
The project will be carried out in partnership with the Liberian Ministry of Education.
Below are the architectural drawings of the center.
