Nyan M. Korto

Executive Director

Nyan Korto is currently working as a GIS Analyst with Greenhorne and O'Mara, Laurel, MD. Mr. Korto holds a B.S. Degree in Geography-GIS from the University of Maryland and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Geospatial Science at the same University. Nyan has also extensive experience with social work and helping people in need.

Of his experience in Liberia, he tells: “Liberia is a wonderful land, with uncontaminated nature and a simple lifestyle. People in rural areas still live in close contact with nature. Unfortunately, war has devastated the economy and people themselves. The path to reconstruction and lasting peace is still long and difficult but I am determined to be part of it, even if I don't live there anymore”.

Vittoria Aiello

Project Manager

Vittoria Aiello holds a M.S. Degree in Business Economics from the University di Naples “Federico II”, Italy, and she is currently pursuing a Master in Business Administration from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park. Before moving to the United States, Mrs. Aiello worked as an Accounting Analysist for several institutions and government agencies. She has considerable experience in project management and fundraising.

When asked why she decided to join the Foundation, she answered: “I had always dreamed of a job that would give me the opportunity to make a change in the lives of people whose right to life is often not even recognized. There is a priceless benefit in knowing how helpful our contribution has been for suffering human beings. It is a great privilege but, at the same time, a hard task. That's why I ask for the support of whoever considers human life a precious gift that everyone should contribute to preserve”.

About our director, she says: “When I met Nyan I was really impressed. I had never met a person so kind and willing to help others in every situation. He offers help even before people ask him. He is simply an incredible person”.

Eda Geaway

Country Representative for Liberia

Eda Geaway is a Liberian, and he is currently working with the Medical Emergency & Relief Cooperative International (MERCI), a local NGO, as an account clerk. Mr. Geaway is also serving as financial secretary for the Durport-Road Community Empowerment Club (DRCEC) in Paynesville, Monrovia , Liberia.

Mr. Geayway holds an A.A. Degree in Accounting from the Stella Maris Polytechnic College, Monrovia, Liberia. He is scheduled to receive a B.B.A. Degree on August 28, 2009 from the same college.

About the Foundation, he says: “The programs of this organization constitute a great opportunity for Liberians. I am very happy to work for LDF and I am thankful to its founding members”.
